The research skill

Try it at home

Pick a small project you can finish together today, such as baking toast (with an adult), building a blanket fort, or tidying the toy shelf. Before starting, help your child list three or four steps on a piece of paper, drawing a picture beside each one and an empty box next to it. As each step is done, your child checks the box with a big, proud mark. At the end, look at the finished list together and ask which step took the longest, and what the next project should be.
