The research skill

Try it at home
Make a two-day prediction chart. Ask your child to guess how many cars, birds, or people will pass the window in five minutes. Count together and record the total as a row of tally marks. Tomorrow, before counting again, look at yesterday's tally and ask for a new guess, then count and compare. Talk about whether knowing yesterday's number made today's guess better. Draw both results as bars, and your child has built the same kind of chart the bunny sees in the crystal ball.
