The research skill
Subby is buffing a giant letter A while B, C, and D smile below. That is proofreading, the final pass that checks spelling, capital letters, punctuation, and neat presentation after the ideas are settled. It comes last in Chapter 6's writing process for a reason: there is no point polishing a sentence you might still cut. Researchers proofread before anything goes out, because small errors distract readers from big findings. For your child, it shows up as checking names, capitals, and periods before handing in work.
Try it at home
Give a finished drawing or short note one "polish pass" with a tiny checklist.
