Remember the towering library shelves from early in the story? The squad's brand-new book is now being placed right beside those old volumes, and the circle quietly closes. Children who have followed the whole journey from observation to publication get a lovely payoff here, the readers have become authors. This page teaches something profound in a single image, that knowledge is a shelf everyone can add to. The books that inspired the squad now have a new neighbor, and someday another curious reader will pull it down and begin an adventure of their own.
The research skill
Standing on a step stool, Curious Bunny slides a book called Our Discovery onto a tree-shaped bookshelf, beside volumes with titles like Science and History. This is adding to the body of knowledge: once research is published, it joins the collection that future researchers will search, just as the squad searched in Chapter 2. Deciding where a new book belongs is also a sorting skill. Your child will see it when classroom libraries group books by topic, and later in library catalogs and search results.
Try it at home
Shelve a new "book" in your home library. Help your child fold a few sheets of paper into a small booklet about something they learned, then give it a title and a cover. Next, look at a shelf or basket of books together and sort a handful into simple groups, like animals, stories, and facts. Ask your child which group their booklet belongs in, and why. Then place it on the shelf, standing proudly between its new neighbors.
