After a hundred pages of asking, searching, testing, counting, and telling, the squad throws a proper party, and children get to color pure joy. Celebration is not an extra in research, it is part of the cycle, the moment that refuels curiosity for whatever comes next. As the grand finale of Chapter 6 approaches, this page gives kids permission to feel proud of finished work, theirs included. Big efforts deserve big cake, and this one looks like it was earned.
The research skill
Cake, balloons, and confetti fill the page as the bunny, the owl, the puppy, and Subby celebrate together. In research, a celebration doubles as a reflection point: teams look back at what worked, what was hard, and who helped before they start the next project. Naming what you learned out loud helps it stick. In Chapter 6, that reflection is part of telling the story well. Your child will meet the same habit in end-of-unit reviews at school, and later in project wrap-ups at work.
Try it at home
Throw a small "we did it" party after any finished project, even a completed puzzle or a block tower. Make paper confetti from scrap paper, or add a balloon (with an adult, since popped balloon pieces are a choking hazard). Before the treats, each person shares one thing they learned, one thing that was tricky, and one person they want to thank. Write the answers on slips of paper and keep them in a jar for the next project.
