The party is over, and the squad has collapsed into a cozy, happy pile, already dreaming of the next adventure. This gentle page teaches something adults often forget, that rest is part of doing great work. Curiosity needs sleep too. The dream floating above them hints that finishing one project plants the seeds of another, maybe a brand-new question, maybe a project headed for science fair success. For children winding down after their own burst of coloring and learning, this page is an invitation to breathe, snuggle, and wonder what comes next.
The research skill
The squad sleeps in a heap, and their dream bubble is full of possible next projects: planets, a submarine, fish, a stack of books marked New, and a rising chart. Choosing the next question from what you just learned is what researchers call future work, and many papers end with a short list of it. It closes Chapter 6 by pointing back to the start of the cycle, where every project begins with a question. Your child will hear it in science class as "What would you test next?"
Try it at home
At bedtime, make a dream list together. Ask your child for three things they wonder about, inspired by the dream bubble, like where fish sleep, what is on other planets, or how a submarine goes underwater. Draw each question inside its own circle on a sheet of paper. In the morning, pick one and decide on one small way to explore it, such as a library book, a walk outside, or a question for someone who might know.
