No. I don't gather anything about you or your child when you use this site. There's no sign-up, login, cookie banner, analytics tool, or ad anywhere on it. I only learn something about you if you decide to email me, and then it's just what you write.
What happens when you visit
The site is a set of plain pages hosted on GitHub Pages. Nothing I've built watches what you click or print. Even the fonts come from the site itself. GitHub, like most hosts, can keep ordinary server logs such as IP addresses for security, and its own privacy documentation covers that.
Why it's safe for kids
There's no box anywhere for a child to type a name or message into: no comments, no chat, no profiles. A child coloring along can't hand me personal details, even by accident. I follow COPPA, the US law that protects children under 13 online, and if you ever think a child's details reached me somehow, tell me and I'll delete them.
The small exception on blog posts
Blog articles, which I write for grown-ups, may show a pop-up after a while suggesting you add The Little Thesis as a preferred source on Google. Google's button code loads only if that pop-up opens, and using it is optional and tells me nothing. While it's open, Google's code keeps a little data in your browser's session storage and fetches its logo from Google.
To avoid asking twice, your browser notes the day you saw it, on your device only. That note isn't a cookie and never leaves your computer. After 30 days it stops mattering and is cleared on your next blog visit. The pop-up never appears on coloring, story, or character pages.
If you email me
I use your address and message only to answer you: no mailing list, no sharing, and I don't hang onto it once we're done. Families outside the US are welcome too. I hold no personal data, so there's nothing to look up or erase, and I'm happy to confirm that in writing. See How do I get in touch?.
