Using the Book & Website

How do I find a specific coloring page?

The fastest way is the address. Every coloring page lives at /pages/ plus its number, so page 24 is at /pages/24/ and page 99 is at /pages/99/. Type that after the site's name in your browser and you land right on it.

Browse by chapter

If you remember the scene but not the number, go to the chapter. Each chapter page shows a grid of all its coloring pages, with each page's number, title, and story line under the picture.

Chapter Pages
1. The Spark of Curiosity 1 to 10
2. The Library of Leaves 11 to 25
3. The Great Guess 26 to 40
4. The Adventure Kit 41 to 60
5. Counting the Treasure 61 to 80
6. Telling the Story 81 to 100

So if your child wants "the one with the pie chart," that is a charts scene, which puts it in Chapter 5. It turns out to be page 62.

Step through one page at a time

At the bottom of every coloring page there are Previous and Next links showing the neighboring page numbers, with a counter such as "Page 24 of 100" in between. That is handy when you are printing a run of pages in order.

Jump there in the reader

In Read the Book, add #page- and the number to the end of the address. For example, /book/#page-87 opens the reader on page 87, Peer Review. From there you can flip back and forth to find the scene you want.

Pages worth bookmarking

A few pages come up often:

  • Page 1: the Title Page, where your child writes their name
  • Pages 2 to 5: meet the four characters
  • Page 10 and page 24: the two interactive pages
  • Page 99: the Junior Researcher diploma
